Safety Guidelines EVENNECT
Practical safety guidance for using EVENNECT (UK users only) — including parcels, pets, events, and local services. Use these guidelines to protect yourself, protect others, and keep the platform trustworthy.
Last Updated: 01 January 2026
🧠 Trust your instincts
If something feels off, pause, verify, and step away. You don’t owe anyone a meet-up or details.
📍 Meet smart
Prefer public, well-lit places. If a home address is unavoidable, bring someone and tell a trusted person.
🔒 Protect information
Don’t share passwords, one-time codes, bank details, or full addresses publicly.
1. UK users only
EVENNECT is intended for users in the United Kingdom. These guidelines are written for UK safety expectations and reporting routes.
2. Emergency help
If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 999.
For non-emergency police, call 101.
For urgent medical advice, use NHS 111.
3. General safety when meeting in person
- Meet in a public, well-lit place whenever possible.
- Tell a friend/family member where you’re going. Consider sharing your live location with someone you trust.
- Keep your first meeting short and simple. Trust your instincts and leave if something feels wrong.
- Do not share sensitive information (bank details, passwords, one-time codes).
- If meeting at a home address is unavoidable, consider bringing someone with you.
4. Protect your personal information
- Do not post your full address, email, phone number or workplace publicly.
- Be careful with photos (labels, street signs, car plates, school uniforms).
- Use in-platform messaging first. Be cautious if someone pushes to move to other apps immediately.
5. Parcels (Parcel Portal)
- EVENNECT is not a courier. Always verify claims carefully.
- Never share delivery company one-time passcodes, bank details, or passwords.
- When posting photos, obscure sensitive information (tracking numbers, addresses) where possible.
- Arrange handovers safely: public places or monitored building reception areas are best.
- If you suspect theft or fraud, report to the police (999/101) and notify EVENNECT.
6. Pets & PetCare
- Be alert to scams (requests for money upfront, urgency, inconsistent stories).
- Do not share your exact address publicly. Use approximate area until you trust the other person.
- If arranging pet care (walkers/sitters), ask for references and check credentials/insurance where relevant.
- Report suspected animal welfare issues to the appropriate UK authority (e.g., RSPCA where applicable) and to EVENNECT.
7. Events & Notices
- Organisers are responsible for venue safety, permits, and any required insurance.
- For large events, use clear rules and a moderation plan (entry rules, reporting contacts).
- Do not encourage dangerous behaviour, trespass, or illegal activity.
8. Tutors, Dog Walkers, Helpers & local services
- Do your own due diligence: references, qualifications, insurance, and (where appropriate) DBS checks.
- Agree terms in writing (price, time, scope). Do not pay unusual deposits to unknown people.
- Consider meeting first in a public place before allowing someone into your home.
9. Vehicle Watch / Road hazards
- Do not post defamatory accusations or encourage vigilantism.
- Use official routes for reporting crime or suspicious activity (999/101).
- Road hazard posts can be unverified — do not rely solely on EVENNECT alerts for safety decisions.
10. Prohibited content and behaviour
EVENNECT has zero tolerance for:
- Illegal content or facilitation of illegal activity
- Harassment, bullying, hate, threats, or stalking
- Sexual exploitation (especially involving minors)
- Doxing or sharing personal data about others without permission/lawful basis
- Scams, fraud, impersonation, or spam
- Encouraging self-harm or violence
- Uploading malware or attempting unauthorised access
11. Reporting on EVENNECT
If you see content or behaviour that violates our rules, looks unsafe, or appears illegal:
- Use the reporting tools in the platform (where available), and/or
- Email: mail@evennect.co.uk with links, screenshots, and details.
We may remove content, restrict visibility, suspend accounts, or refer matters to law enforcement where appropriate.
12. Moderation and enforcement
Moderation may include automated detection and human review. We may take action where we reasonably believe there is a breach of our Terms, a safety risk, or a legal requirement. Where appropriate, you can contact support to request review of a decision.
13. Staying safe online
- Use a strong, unique password and enable any available security features.
- Beware of phishing. EVENNECT will never ask for your password via email/message.
- Keep your device/browser updated.
