1. Introduction

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of EVENNECT.co.uk, including all portals, modules, microsites, applications, and services (the “Platform”). By using the Platform, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms. The Platform is intended for UK users only.

2. About EVENNECT

EVENNECT is a UK-based community platform connecting neighbours, services and local organisations through secure communication, smart matching, and location-based updates.

Modules include (but are not limited to)
  • Parcel Portal
  • Pets & PetCare
  • Vehicle Watch
  • Events & Notices
  • Roads & Hazards
  • Local Safety
  • Tutors
  • Dog Walkers
  • Helpers
  • Future EVENNECT microsites

3. Eligibility & Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old (or legal majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account unless supervised by a lawful guardian.

You are responsible for maintaining confidentiality of your login details and for all activities conducted under your account.

4. Location & Area-Based Features

The Platform includes postcode search and “Use my location” features to provide results within a defined radius (e.g., 3 miles).

  • Device location access is permission-based.
  • Postcode search uses third-party geocoding services.
  • Location accuracy is not guaranteed.

You accept that location filtering, counts, smart routing and alerts are automated and may not always be accurate.

5. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Post unlawful, fraudulent, harmful, or misleading content
  • Harass, threaten, or discriminate
  • Upload malware or attempt unauthorised access
  • Misrepresent identity or ownership
  • Engage in illegal trade (including prohibited animals or goods)

6. Service-Specific Terms

Parcel Portal

EVENNECT is not a courier and does not physically handle parcels. We do not guarantee recovery, delivery, or authenticity.

Pets & PetCare

Users must comply with UK animal welfare laws. EVENNECT does not verify animal health, ownership, or temperament.

Vehicle Watch

EVENNECT is not law enforcement and does not verify claims. Users must not post defamatory or false allegations.

Events

Event organisers are responsible for safety, insurance, permits and compliance. EVENNECT is not liable for cancellations, injuries or losses.

Roads & Hazards / Safety

Hazard and safety posts may be user-generated and unverified. Do not rely solely on Platform alerts for safety decisions.

Tutors, Dog Walkers, Helpers

EVENNECT is not a party to agreements between users. You must conduct your own due diligence (DBS checks, references, insurance).

7. Data Use & Third-Party Providers

We may process personal data including account data, content, technical data, and approximate location data.

We may share data with:

  • Cloud hosting providers
  • Analytics services
  • Email and messaging providers
  • Fraud detection & security services
  • Payment processors (if enabled)
  • Mapping & postcode geocoding APIs

Data may also be disclosed where required by law or to protect users and public safety.

8. Intellectual Property

All EVENNECT branding, software, design and content are protected by intellectual property laws. Unauthorised copying or scraping is prohibited.

9. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available.” We make no warranties regarding reliability, accuracy, or availability.

10. Limitation of Liability

Important: Offline interactions (meetups, handovers, services) are your responsibility. Always follow the Safety Guidelines.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, EVENNECT disclaims all express and implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for purpose, and non-infringement.

EVENNECT shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential damages
  • Loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill or opportunity
  • Injury, theft, or property damage arising from offline interactions
  • User-generated content or reliance on automated matching
  • Location inaccuracies or routing errors
  • Acts or omissions of third parties

Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the greater of: (a) £100; or (b) the amount paid by you to EVENNECT in the previous 12 months.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold EVENNECT harmless from claims, losses, liabilities and expenses arising from your use of the Platform or breach of these Terms.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts for breach, fraud, legal risk or community safety concerns.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use constitutes acceptance.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
